Between New York, and California which state is better for acting, and which state is better for modeling?
My friend Mary is really interested in becoming an actress or doing modeling. I suggested california would be better for acting, and new york for modeling, but I just figured I would see which you think would be better for her, and if you know of any talent agencies out there she could call.

Acting jobs are better in New York because they have more theaters (i.e.Broadway) and modeling I think would be just as good in either state, since both are considered fashion capitals.

NY is the modeling capital of this hemisphere and LA is where it’s at for acting (although NY is also pretty good if you want to be a stage actor).

Between NY and CA, CA for film acting, NY for stage and film acting and modeling. CA’s economy is so bad, it is very dangerous to go there. Hard to find work to support yourself, Very costly to get around, must have a good car, be a good driver. At least NY has public transportation. Your friend Mary had better be really really good and really really photogenic if she is going to succeed. She also need a ton of acting experience in amateur plays, indie films and student films.

California is better for film but New York is better for theatre. Modeling is better in New York I think so I think New York is the best if she wants to do both.
