How do I put my daughter in a modeling agency in New York?
She is 6 and has won many pageants including a third place win in the state pageant. She wants to model but I want to start a little at a time. Is there any good model agencies in New York I can enter her in?

You are putting a burden on your little girl. You are telling the world that they can criticize her outward appearance and you are telling your daughter that it matters. All this at the age of 6. I’m sure she’ll grow up to be a wonderful person…

then you should go to smaller agencies and
build up her resume before NYC.

I would also search them on the internet and also look for any negative info on them. Remember that the modeling agency is only 25% of the issue. The other 75% is running to auditions at a moments notice; Like at 6:00 a.m. or while at work. The auditions don’t wait, so make sure you are ready for this commitment because it might do more harm than good if your daughter is ready and you are not.

why would anyone want to do that do their child. Let her be a little girl for god’s sake. She’ll be worried about her weight before she turns 7.

You are teaching your daughter that looks are important and that you are only successful in this world if your outward appearance is attractive.
It’s one thing to put clothes on your kid and have them pose for a picture in a catalogue, but to dress them up and have them compete with other children to see who is prettier is disgusting.
Six year olds should have messy pig tails and mismatched socks. Let her be 6!

She is too young for that. Let her wait until she is older and then let her choose if she wants to be a model.
