Try starting out smaller. Go to a makeup stand, like MAC or Dior and ask how you would go about applying for their job. I was at the MAC stand getting a makeover and was talking to the artist, I mentioned, "you've got the coolest job ever. I'd love to work here"...she replied, "you'd think. The novelty factor wears off pretty quick and you stop enjoying it after a while". MAC has classes that you take with them... Once you've worked for a reputable company you can move up if you have skill, then your dream might come true. everyone wants to do that…so you won’t start out as a makeup artist for models in new york.
